Latasha Allston is a native of San Francisco, CA and graduated from Jackson State University in 2012. She came to JSU to run track and experience life in the South, the part of the country where her family grew up. During her fresman year, she became involved in RUF and loved it so much she joined the RUF staff at JSU in a full-time capacity after graduating. She is being discipled by local pastor Elbert McGowan (Redeemer Church, PCA) and his wife Karen. She works hard helping to care for the young ladies in RUF and coordinate outreach events on campus!
Latasha is also a full-time student at Reformed Theological Seminary Jackson, currently pursing a M.A. in the Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling program. She is in year four of her RUF internship and hopes to continue for the next two years. Through this ministry, she gets to come alongside women and build trust as she assists in helping them find healing and hope in the Gospel. She also has opportunities to model biblical womanhood to women who need a godly example to follow as they learn to live out their Christian faith. Latasha's specific role with RUF includes meeting with upperclass students, inreach/outreach, and crisis management.
